01.Platform Purpose & Acceptance

Tooloholic exists to help people discover useful software tools and open-source projects through curated, independent editorial teardowns and structured categories. These Terms apply to all visitors, registered members, and software creators who access or use the platform.

02.User Accounts & Bookmarks

You may browse our directory without creating an account. When creating an account to save personal bookmarks, you agree to provide accurate information and safeguard your credentials. You are responsible for any activity conducted under your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that engage in abusive or automated behavior.

03.Tool Submissions & Uploaded Assets

Founders, developers, and users may submit tools for editorial consideration via our intake form. By submitting software or uploading logos, screenshots, or descriptions:

• You warrant that you have the right and authorization to submit the product information and media assets.
• You grant Tooloholic a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display your product name, logo, screenshots, pricing information, and descriptions within our discovery directory, collections, and editorial teardowns.
• You agree not to submit malware, deceptive utilities, phishing software, or products that violate applicable laws or third-party intellectual property rights.
• Uploaded assets must comply with our technical requirements (size limits, verified image signatures, safe SVG formatting).

04.Editorial Independence & Discretion

Tooloholic is strictly editorially independent. Inclusion in the catalog, badges (such as “STAFF PICK”), rankings, and editorial reviews are determined exclusively by Tooloholic. Submitting a tool does not guarantee publication, top placement, or positive coverage. We do not accept payment to artificially alter rankings or editorial reviews. We reserve the right to edit descriptions for clarity, reassign categories, or unpublish any tool at our discretion.

05.Third-Party Software & External Links

Tooloholic features and links to third-party software, external websites, and public code repositories. We do not own, operate, or control these third-party products. We are not responsible for changes to external pricing, feature modifications, availability, security vulnerabilities, or terms of service of third-party software. Visiting and using third-party software is entirely at your own discretion and risk.

06.Reporting Issues & Acceptable Use

Community members are encouraged to report broken links, inaccurate pricing, or intellectual property concerns via the “Report an issue” function on a tool page. You agree not to:

• Engage in automated scraping or rate-limit circumvention against our API routes.
• Artificially inflate click counts, bookmark counts, or traffic metrics using bots or scripts.
• Attempt unauthorized access to administrative or CMS endpoints.

07.Intellectual Property & Nominative Fair Use

The Tooloholic name, logo, original editorial reviews and custom user interface designs are the property of Tooloholic. Third-party software names, logos, brand trademarks, and GitHub repository marks displayed across the catalog belong to their respective copyright and trademark owners, used under nominative fair use strictly to accurately identify the software being reviewed and cataloged.

08.Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

Tooloholic is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Tooloholic and its creators disclaim all liability for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your access to or reliance on information provided on the platform, or your interaction with any third-party tools discovered through Tooloholic.
